In December 2007 The Community CENTER sponsored our first ever Alternative Breaks service trip to New Orleans for Katrina Relief work. We took 24 students and completed over 700 hours of community service with the group Helping Hands. You can read about the trip in the posts below. Cal Poly Alternative Breaks provides an opportunity for students to lend a helping hand in our global communities and address humanitarian issues through strong direct service, educational workshops, and group reflection during summer, winter, and spring breaks.
